MediciGlobal Continues to Add Depth of Experience to its Strategic Patient Recruitment-Retention Team
With 13 years of experience, MediciGlobal’s new executive complements the company’s patient-centric focus to patient recruitment and retention for clinical trials.
King of Prussia, PA , May 10, 2010 - MediciGlobal, the global leader in marketing clinical trials to patients and healthcare professionals, is pleased to add Melissa Cabral to its Project Management Team.
Cabral’s background fits nicely with MediciGlobal’s patient-centric culture and the company’s increased focus in supporting oncology clinical trials and complex CNS studies. After completing her Ph.D coursework in Biopsychology, Cabral applied her knowledge and interest to better understanding the motivations of patients to enter into clinical trials. Her work at NYU School of Medicine Aging and Dementia Research Center, University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center, Fox Chase Cancer Center, and more recently at a major clinical research organization (CRO) prepares her well for transferring her experiences to global clinical within a range of diverse cultures.
“As demand for our niche services continues to steadily expand, clinical trials continue to become more complex; specialty recruitment companies must have experienced talent to meet the needs of our global clients and to develop strategically sound patient recruitment-retention programs,” said Liz Moench, CEO at MediciGlobal.
In her Project Management role, Cabral will guide client clinical teams in assessing the impact of study design on patient recruitment, developing recruitment strategies that motivate patients to participate in clinical research, and oversee the implementation of domestic and global patient recruitment programs. Her new role draws upon her interest in the psychology of decision making and her patient-centered experience. Melissa will also be involved in training investigators and study coordinators on patient-centered recruitment techniques including effectively communicating often complex study details to patients.
“I am looking forward to having tracking systems and global technologies that optimize patient recruitment programs at my finger tips,” says Cabral.
Cabral received her BA in Psychology from Temple University and her MA in Biopsychology from City University of New York. She has completed her coursework for her Ph.D, and has published works in Cancer Research, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Clinical Breast Cancer, Journal of Genetic Counseling, and Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers & Prevention.
