King of Prussia, PA (December 15, 2008) – A CRO, selected MediciGlobal, a leading specialty patient recruitment-retention firm, for the development of patient specific materials, for a Major Depressive Disorder clinical trial.
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) also known as severe depression affects close to 15 million Americans. MediciGlobal is working with a CRO and its clinical project team, to develop comprehensive tools designed to assist research centers communicate the study to patients and their families.
With an expedited development timeline, MediciGlobal is delivering the patient materials within an agreed upon timeframe, and together, both companies are collaborating to closely monitor the progress of recruitment and the use of the materials.
“Major Depressive Disorder is a devastating disease,” said Liz Moench, CEO of MediciGlobal. “We are pleased to be working with this important CRO, and supporting the research centers to ensure that study staff has the best tools possible to communicate with MDD patients, and make the recruitment process a successful one.”
Since the conduct of MDD studies often involves familial support and or a coach, it is important that the patient’s supporters are also connected with the study, and understand its requirements related to time and commitment. “Materials with information that informs and guides patients as well as their supporters are important for recruitment and retention” says Moench. “In fact, effectively designed materials can account for 30% of patient and family response, and garners the commitment of study staff.”
